Overview
A Mediterranean Moor (Medi Moor) is a mooring technique that assists vessels berthing stern-to a quay.
It is typically used in Mediterranean ports where the tidal range is minimal, and the quays are relatively short when compared to the number of visiting vessels.
When To Use A Mediterranean Moor
A Mediterranean Moor is commonly used in ports within the Mediterranean Sea where a large number of pleasure vessels wish to berth on a relatively short length of quay.
Using an anchor to control the bow allows vessels to berth stern-to the quay, reducing the length of quay occupied by each vessel.
