Overview
An Open Moor is a mooring technique for vessels which involves deploying two anchors ahead of the vessel.
It is typically used in situations where tide or wind is consistently coming from a single direction.
When To Use An Open Moor
An Open Moor is typically used when a vessel needs to anchor and there is a strong tide or wind coming from a consistent direction.
Mooring with two anchors typically provides better holding than mooring with a single anchor, however, care should be taken regarding the angle between the anchors.
