The Williamson Turn is an immediate response man overboard manoeuvre designed to return a vessel along its previous track.
Ideally executed immediately after a man overboard situation occurs, it swings a vessel's stern away from a casualty before bringing the vessel back along its previous track ready for recovering the person from the water.
