Overview
This series visualises the main Man Overboard manoeuvres that commercial vessels may undertake to recover a casualty.
The aim of this series is to clearly demonstrate different manoeuvres to assist viewers in establishing a clear mental model which can be called upon in an emergency situation.
Manoeuvers
Williamson Turn
An immediate response man overboard manoeuvre designed to return a vessel along its previous path.
Scharnov Turn
A manoevre which returns a vessel to its previous track, assuming time has elapsed since a casualty went overboard.
Anderson Turn
A man overboard manoeuvre, ideal when a casualty remains in sight.
